Cartoon Network is going to broadcast the new episodes of the series, after a long, long rerun season. Last time, CN broadcasted the first 43 episodes and then, they rerun it again. The long wait is over and We can finally see the final judgement of Sakura and the Sakura Cards Season (Episodes 44-70). The new episodes are going to be broadcast on Monday 05, 2001 on Cartoon Network Latin America Version on weekdays at 2:30p.m. Panama time.
Charlie D. / Mar.3,2001
Cartoon Network Latinamerica Channel is going to premiere Card Captor Sakura in Spanish (with SAP it is in English or Japanese...probably) on November the 1st at 16:30 hours. The official name of the series is "Sakura, Card Captor". Letīs hope they are not going to edit it too much, but I saw the trailer and it seems the series will begin at episode 1 and not at episode 8 like the U.S. version. Also, the dub is going to be in spanish, and I think thatīs cool because the Spanish dubs are pretty good for anime. I watch Doraemon, Dragon Ball Z and Ranma 1/2 in spanish and they are pretty good. I am going to give a full coverage of this event so please stay tune!!...Domo Arigato.

I just saw in Cartoon Network Latinamerica Channel that they are going to premiere Card Captor Sakura in Spanish (with SAP it is in English or Japanese...) on November the 1st. The official name of the series is "Sakura, Card Captor". At last, I am going to see this cool series on Cable T.V. even if it is edited. (Letīs hope they are not going to edit it too much) Also, the dub is going to be in spanish, and I think thatīs cool because the Spanish dubs are pretty good for anime. I watch Doraemon, Dragon Ball Z and Ranma 1/2 in spanish and they are pretty good.

After a long slumber in anime programming, T.V. is awakening again with two great anime shows coming soon to Panama. One of the most acclaimed anime series is debuting on T.V. this month Neon Genesis Evangelion is going to hit our screens in spanish dubbed and maybe unedited... and the other series is Slam Dunk!...The history of basketball players in Japan... Both series are going to be broadcast in the night slot (7:00pm) in Channel 4!

After almost 20 years, the smash hit "El Gato Cosmico" a.k.a. DORAEMON is coming back to the Panama TV Screens. The show is programmed to be on weekdays mornings at 9:00am on Channel 13.
Also, the ANIME EXPO 2000 is programmed to be on June, July of this year. The anime expo promise to be very interesting this year, with free screenings, fine fan art from the students of the Panama University, manga sales, garage kits and more!

Kenshin and Goku are back! On Monday 29, Channel 13 launched the Kenshin episodes after the last fight against Shishio. Right now, Channel 13 is showing Rurouni Kenshin three times a week, while Dragon Ball Z is showing two days a week. Dragon Ball Z is right now in the "Majin Buu" saga!
There is a new series (an oldie in Japan) called The Star Pitcher and also Ranma 1/2 is strong in the charts. The competition of Channel 13, Channel 2 is showing Pocket Monsters a.k.a. Pokemon twice a day.

Battle for anime in Panama TV.
On Monday 28, TVN Channel 2 is going to broadcast another new anime in Panama (Old anime in Japan)..Pocket Monsters a.k.a. Pokemon.
At the same time, after seeing that, Channel 13 is going to release BTX to compete with Pokemon at the same day. I am not sure what timeslot they are going to use, but I think Sailor Moon (right now in reruns) will be cancelled...
Right now, the new anime programming is the following.
TVN Mon-Wed-Fri...2.30 Magic Knight Rayearth, 3.30 Pokemon
TELEMETRO Every weekday...3.00 Sailor Moon, 3.30 Dragon Ball Z, 4.00 Ranma 1/2
One of this cool anime will be out, probably Sailor Moon, and will be changed for BTX. Telemetro is claiming that BTX is from the same people who did "Saint Seiya", and with this announcement, they are going to attract people who really liked "Saint Seiya"
Years ago, one of the first anime shows that have high ratings was Saint Seiya, and with this in mind, Telemetro is trying to do the same with BTX. It seems that the war for anime on Panama is heating up.

AnimeExpo 1999 was held on May 25-28. There was a lot of sponsors there. Manga stores was there to sell comics and manga. Another store was there selling anime souvenirs and posters, There were also conferences about the facts of being a manga artist in Japan given by a professor, and he shows some good examples of anime to the audience to show them what was anime all about. and there were representatives from the U.S. embassy and the Japan embassy too. Many students draw many artworks and post it in the walls so the public could watch their talent.
In other news, The second season of Rayearth was shown today in channel 2. It have been 2 weeks since the first 4 episodes of Rayearth stopped, and today, they continue to broadcast the series.
Also, there are reruns of Slayers, today they showed Slayers Next the second season, and next week, Telemetro (Channel 13) will broacast Rumiko Takahashiīs RANMA 1/2.
It seems that Telemetro is going to move Dragon Ball Z to another time slot, or they will remove it from their TV programming. Dragon Ball Z is right now in reruns.
Charlie D. / Jun.3,1999
Right now, We have Magic Knight Rayearth that began the second season on Friday. The story tell the adventures of Hikaru, Fuu and Umi as they return to Cefiro to save it again and this time from foreign enemies and to look for a new pillar. I know this are old news in Japan, but I think the series are pretty cool.
Also, Telemetro is broadcasting reruns of Slayers...They were almost finishing Slayers TRY, but suddenly, they jump back to the first episode of Slayers...
Virtual Fighter is almost reaching the final episode also.
Finally, the ANIMEEXPO 1999 is scheduled for the last week of May, probably in the week between May 25-27.
Charlie D. / May.5,1999
On March 21, 1999, I believed, Slayers TRY began...Pretty cool... Also, Magic Knight Rayearth is almost ending the first season. We hope they will continue the series. and finally, AnimeExpo 1999 is scheduled for May, 1999.
Charlie D. / Apr.22,1999
Remember this day, March 10, 1999...TVN-2, Channel 2 is airing Las guerreras Magicas a.k.a. Magic Knight Rayearth, Clampīs Masterpiece series. They are broadcasting the first season. Also, they are broadcasting Virtua Fighter the series. Both series are being aired on weekdays, after 2.00pm. In Telemetro, Channel 13, they are airing Dragon Ball Z reruns, but We believe they are going to get new chapters, because the series have high ratings.
Charlie D. / Mar.13,1999
Slayers NEXT has just begun on Tuesday 09, 1999. It is good to see that this cool series are broadcasted here in Panama. The only complain I have is that they use the song "Get Along" in the second season. The first season of slayers, they dubbed the OP and ED song of "Get along" in spanish. When the second season-Slayers NEXT begun, they used the same song of the first season, dubbed, with the opening of Slayers NEXT. I think it is cheaper to use the same song instead of dubbing the song "Give a Reason" and the ED song of the new season.
In other news, The series "RUROUNI KENSHIN" has been pull out of the air, because the tv station don't have the new season yet. The series ended with the dead of Shishio, and the Return of Kenshin to Tokyo.

As Charlie D. says before, the last year was the year of anime in Panama.
The succeed of anime series such as Dragon Ball Z and Rorouni Kenshin, makes more popular this type of art. The 13 chanel (TELEMETRO), also start transmiting these year Slayers tv series in the television space called the Manga Hour.

Daisaku (J.V.) / Jan.22,1999
1998 was the year of anime in Panama, and 1999 promise to be better.
The new anime shows in Panama are as follows:
TVN-2 is showing Zenki, Street Fighter V.
TELEMETRO-13 is showing Rurouni Kenshin, Dragon Ball Z, Sailor Moon Stars and Slayers the first season.
The most popular show is Dragon Ball Z. This shows are from Monday to Friday in the afternoon and TELEMETRO is calling their programming "LA TANDA MANGA" or the Manga Hour.
A group of young students in University of Panama did an event called Anime Expo 98. In the Event, they show a lot of Fanart made by people studying there. Also, Some businesses were there sponsoring the event. The sponsors provided the food for the guests, An Anime Rental Store gave free membership for the rental of anime and also, another company sold Manga and Graphic novels. The Event was held on October 1998. The entrance was free, and people went there also to buy anime stuff and watch anime in a big screen. I asked the sponsors and the organizers of the event if there will be another event like this, and They told me that it is VERY probable that yes, there could be an ANIME EXPO 99. This is the first time, someone organize a kind of this event, and the ANIMEEXPO98 was very succesful.
