MVM-UK, better known for publishing AnimEgo titles such as the original BubbleGum Crisis and the Urusei Yatsura movies have released details of two new Oh My Goddess DVD that are coming this summer. Extras includes commentary from the voice actors, music & effects track, slideshow of production cels and outtakes. The DVDs will haave English subtitles with Japanese soundtrack, English dub or a limited English subtitled version only showing English on the opening and end credits plus for the odd sign, label or two. The first DVD to be released in August 6th will contain episodes 1 to 3 while the second DVD containing episodes 4 & 5 will be out in 9th September.
Ryoga Hibiki / Jul.2,2001
It looks like the excellent epic Princess Mononoke is set for a UK release. Buena Vista has submitted DVD bonus material for the Studio Ghibli feature film to the British Board of Film Classification, which was given a PG. Presumably, the extras are theatrical trailers and a production featurette found in the Region 1 version of the animated film. No date has been given to when the DVD will be release. Hopefully, fingers-crossed that it comes out this year!
Ryoga Hibiki / May.22,2001

Ryoga Hibiki / Apr.11,2001
It seems that Manga Entertainment won't be releasing Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie with a Japanese language track on its upcoming DVD release. It's become apparent that the US and UK releases of the film were cut and dubbed, making the Japanese audio track unsuitable and out of place. Manga has said that inorder to add the original Japanese audio track, they would have to publish it on a seperate DVD. It would also mean that they would have to summit the original Japanese edit of the film to the BBFC for classification, which means more delays. Manga Entertainment have said that if the DVDs sell well, they would consider a special edition version containing both the Japanese and English edits of SF II. Looks like us Brits will have to buy several copies!!!
Ryoga Hibiki / Apr.9,2001
Manga Entertainment has announced the release of their double-bill DVD, Legend of the Overfiend & Demon Womb (Urotsukidoji parts 1 & 2). The DVD will feature a picture gallery, Manga's DVD previews and trailers plus CD-ROM content. Unfortunately, the two films will only contain the English dub soundtrack due to the numerous cuts made to the film, much like the upcoming Manga release of Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie.
Ryoga Hibiki / Apr.9,2001
After delays, Manga has finally officially announced the release of Street Fighter Alpha: The Animated Movie on DVD and VHS on the 16th April 2001. Unlike the Japanese DVD release, which comes in a two-part OVA series, this version algimated the two in very similar style to ADV's Sonic the Hedgehog and Tekken. There is also a chance to win a Playstation 2 when you purchase the film!
Ryoga Hibiki / Apr.9,2001

Ryoga Hibiki / Dec.31,2000
Manga Entertainment has finally put a tentative date on the most fought after movie! Neon Genesis Evangelion will be released in the Summer of 2001! Why was it so delayed? Apparently, they've been re-assambling the AD Vision cast of Evangelion. Manga was going to release it for a theatrical release, but that seems unlikely.
Ryoga Hibiki / Dec.24,2000
Pokemon: The Movie 2000 is to be release in cinemas on the 22nd of December 2000 just in time for Christmas! It sees Ash and his friends learning about the three legendary birds. Ninja Scroll will be available to buy in store on the 13th November 2000. Released by Manga Entertainment it tells a story of Jubei and his encounters with the Eight Devils of Kimon and the beautiful "Ninja Girl" Kagero. The DVD should be an exact copy of the Region 1 version as the BBFC has laxed the 18 Cert category:

Languages: English Japanese and Japanese with English Subtitles

Manga Max, probably the only decent Manga and Anime magazine have stopped their monthly publication until next year. Reasons are unknown but I reckon the staff are just going on holiday for the Winter!
Ryoga Hibiki / Oct.12,2000
Pokemon: The First Movie was released on DVD and VHS a couple of days ago. It seems that the release of the DVD version has the same content and packaging as the US release. This contained a fullscreen version of the movie - a big blow to thoses who are Pokemon fans and wanted the widescreen version, something that a DVD is capable of. The only version that has a widescreen format is the Region 2 Japanese DVD, containing both Japanese and English language. Unfortunately, import this version will probably set you back between £40 to £60...

I hear that the second Pokemon movie , Revelation Lugia , will be coming out here in the UK sometime in December . No-one seems to be sure when , however . The first Pokemon movie comes out on video on October the 13th , and CITV is reported to be getting new episodes of Pokemon sometime in autumn . If CITV get them then , then that means that Satteligh should be getting the new episodes sometime in the next month or so !!
Also , rumor has it that "Pikachu genki de chu" (That game with the virtual Pikachu for the N64) won't be coming out here in the UK . Why ? Apparentally , there are so many varied regional accents in the UK that they seem to think it impossible to make the game understand all of them ... of course , this is a rumor . Let's hope it isn't true ^^;;
Also , CITV have just started showing new Digimon episodes , they've just got back to their homeworld ... but it won't be long until they start hitting repeats , I fear .
Meanwhile , CITV are showing Pokemon re-runs again ... most recent episode : Episode 6 , "Clefairy and the Moonstone" . Ya-ay .
Also , this isn't really news , but did anyone notice that the Sci-Fi was supposed to be showing Gunbuster : Top o Nerae , and then they showed Shogun Wars instead ? This just proves how .. annoying the sci-fi channel can be sometimes .

The Region 2 (UK) DVD version of Perfect Blue is not anamorphic. It was rumoured that Manga Entertainment stated in some news groups and web sites, that the UK version of Perfect Blue would have more features, and anamorphic picture and a longer running time. The run time was about 90 mins long, while the US version was 83 minutes. Features were exactly the same as it's US conterpart.
